Welcome to my World

Introduction To My Blog:

The title of this blog came to me a long time ago while I was writing an entry in a journal about another disappointing attempt at having an adult long term relationship. But what should this blog contain....what substance do I want this marker in the world of blogs to contain?

I am a thinker, observer, empathetic, open, agreeable, intuitive, analytical, methodical and curious person. I admit to be slightly judgmental but try to rationalize and/or disprove my initial response to a situation or person’s actions and personality. Sometimes my ramblings are meant to be extremely clear and have my point understood; other times I'm just thinking & waiting for an inkling of clarity to possibly strike.

I thought long and hard about what I wanted this blog to be about. I didn't want to rant and rave about just anything and nothing; I wanted it to not only be thoughts I had or questions that occurred to me but also share answers that I found and/or needed to have revision(s). But how did I want to frame my thoughts so they made sense to anyone who read them ?
I realized that, as usual, I was thinking way too much.

I know a little bit about a lot of things and I don't mind sharing what I do know; it may prove useful to someone and I may also learn from someone who can expand or can give another perspective on something I've written about.

I can admit I'm wrong just as easily as I can strive to make sure that I'm correct. Not to gloat but to add correct information to my fount of ,sometimes useless but sometimes pertinent information.

The purpose of my blog is to ruminate, learn and share thoughts and observations as well as gain clarity from readers. I’m open to those who wish to inform or correct my thoughts or observations on various topics.

I named this blog to correspond with the aspects of life, love, civility and social/family interaction that usually aren’t simple and can at times be chaotic and at times “disastrous”. Sometimes we create complications where there need not be any but other times we are at the mercy of circumstance and perhaps poor judgment which leaves us vulnerable.

I look forward to sharing and learning as we help each other grow and evolve.

With that said, I introduce you to my first entry in LIFE, LOVE AND OTHER DISASTERS.......

3 of my core philosophies on life are:

Life is not complicated; people make it complicated!

Communication is important to all relationships....don't leave things to assumptions!

Its easier to be tactfully honest; truthful.....there is no need to lie.....it will come out one way or another and it almost certainly wasn't necessary!

These have been in the forefront of my mind over the last few months, the better part of a year now, as I've tried to navigate my way through a new kind of "relationship".

I loosely use the term “relationship” to describe a connection begun via IM chat on a social networking site that progressed to hours long conversations over several days and weeks that culminated into as strong a connection as one can have with a person at a distance when one relies on common interest, attraction to intellect and insights with the added dose of intrigue.

Making life complicated:  I present myself clearly by having not only a recent picture posted but pictures of myself as I've progressed through the years. In return I'm presented with pictures of someone that my connection claims to be but when confronted with this truth I'm given a somewhat farfetched but not implausible reason. Why continue?

I give people the benefit of the doubt because I've been in situations that would be unbelievable if I hadn't been in them!
